What is the 10-disease medical certificate?
The 10-disease medical certificate is a medical document used to confirm a health checkup, also known by some as SorNor 11. It is issued by a doctor to certify that the person is not infected with 10 communicable diseases that may spread to others.
Which 10 foodborne diseases are tested?
To issue the medical certificate, the applicant must undergo a health check for the following 10 diseases:
- Tuberculosis
- Cholera
- Typhoid fever
- Dysentery
- Chickenpox
- Mumps
- Leprosy
- Dermatitis (infectious or repulsive skin diseases)
- Viral hepatitis (e.g., Hepatitis A)
- Other diseases, upon request or as required such as water- and foodborne diseases, influenza, or any disease that health authorities consider grounds for temporary work suspension during outbreaks.
- Note: Additional screening tests outside the standard package may incur extra charges. Please check with staff before the examination.

How is the 10-disease certificate different from the 9-disease certificate?
The main difference is simply the number of diseases listed. With the 9-disease certificate, some employers may request extra tests depending on the level of risk in the workplace.

The 10-disease medical certificate form includes the applicant’s personal information and a medical statement confirming that the person is not suffering from any of the 10 foodborne diseases or related mental disorders. At the bottom of the form, the examining physician may also add comments or recommendations based on the test results.

How to prepare before the health check
- No fasting is required. You may drink water and eat as usual.
- Wear clothing that allows easy access for a blood draw at the inner elbow.

- Get enough sleep and avoid staying up late the night before.
- Bring any previous X-ray films (if available).

- If you might be pregnant, please inform the staff in advance.

Note: Due to the test includes a stool culture (Stool C/S), the results will take about 3 days.
